2019 "Beautiful Words" Write-On Calendar
"Beautiful Words" is a calendar for word nerds everywhere. Each month, learn a new word from another language (or just an obscure English word!) and enjoy bold typography and creative photography and illustrations that pair well with each word. Each month will be a new lexical and aesthetic adventure!
January - Menuha (Hebrew) meaning "deep, soul rest"
February - Fernweh (German) meaning "wanderlust, a desire to travel, a longing for far-off places"
March - Meraki (Greek) meaning "when you leave a piece of yourself in your work"
April - Rimjhim (Hindi) meaning "a light tapping sound produced by the series of raindrops rapidly falling and hitting onto a surface"
May - Mamihlapinatapai (Yaghan) meaning "the look shared by two people who have reached an unspoken understanding or who desire the same thing but each with that the other would offer first"
June - Mudita (Sanskrit) meaning "sympathetic or unselfish joy, the joy in good fortune of others"
July - Quixotic (Spanglish) meaning "exceedingly idealistic, unrealistic and impractical
August - Sonder (English) meaning "the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own"
September - Vellichor (English) meaning "the strange wistfulness of used bookstores"
October - Hiraeth (Welsh) meaning "homesickness tinged with grief or sadness over the lost or departed, a mix of longing, yearning, nostalgia, wistfulness, or an earnest desire for the past"
November - Shuushi (Japanese) - meaning "autumnal melancholy"
December - Selah (Hebrew) unknown meaning, a word that causes the reader to pause and reflect
